manufactured membrane from europe
Hello,
The stretch ceiling installation involves only two main components, both equally critical to the overall result. The membrane, which is the focal point and covers about 95% of the room’s surface, must be of impeccable quality. As installers, we do not manufacture the membrane; it is produced by large companies, often from the plastics industry. These factories supply the raw material, which is the membrane, packaged in rolls of various widths—6.6 feet, 10.6 feet, or 16 feet (2 meters, 3.2 meters, or 5 meters). These rolls are then distributed to numerous companies, each responsible for welding their own harpoons to fit specific tracks. The harpoon is essential for securing the membrane to the track, with each harpoon designed for its corresponding track, and vice versa.
Since 1990, we have consistently relied on a European company to supply us with harpooned membranes and tracks, a supplier that works with the world’s leading stretch ceiling manufacturers. Although we are regularly approached by other vendors offering significantly lower prices, we remain cautious about the potential quality issues. Our priority is maintaining the integrity of our work, our reputation, and our company’s longevity, rather than maximizing profit. This commitment to quality is a reflection of our respect for our customers.
Some individuals have experienced issues with strong chemical odors after installation, likely due to the use of low-quality membranes, which can release unpleasant plastic smells. In contrast, none of our clients have ever reported such problems, reinforcing the fact that quality is a matter of choice and personal preference.
Thank You
